This unit will provide vocational trainers and assessors with an understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and how to use this to assess a student’s LLN level.
Why do I have to complete this unit?
This unit is not intended to make you an LLN specialist but to provide you with the tools to make an LLN assessment. All vocational Trainers and Assessors should complete this unit to add value to their TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification.
More than 7.5 million Australian adults do not have the LLN skills needed to participate fully in today’s workforce (i.e. below level 3). This is almost 50% of our adult population.
A national target has been set to increase our adult LLN levels by 2022 where two thirds (66%) of working adults will have LLN skills at level 3 or above.
