Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

Recognition of Prior Learning is an assessment process that enables individuals to achieve a full or partial Nationally Recognised Qualification by demonstrating their skills, knowledge and experience to meet the relevant criteria.

If you have a history of skills and knowledge gained through your working and learning life and wish to gain a formal qualification, update your old qualifications or have your skills and knowledge current, you may be suitable for an RPL pathway to gain your qualification.  An RPL pathway can be customised and based around your prior skills, knowledge and experience.

How does RPL benefit you?

RPL enables you to achieve your qualification faster and is generally more cost effective than the traditional learning pathway.  An RPL pathway could:

  • save you time and money
  • be a quicker way to gain your qualification
  • enhance job opportunities
  • reduce or avoid repetition for skills and knowledge already gained
  • avoid attending classes or on-the-job training
  • provide you with a nationally recognised qualification
  • assist with your professional development
  • enable you to re-enter the workforce
  • update or upgrade your skills and knowledge

You may be eligible for partial or full RPL.  For further information or inquiries email training@auscollege.edu.au or call (08) 9472 6111.
